WELCOME TO THE MARKET @ REBUS WORKS!

Rebus Works started out as a Saturday Farmer's Market 8 years ago, but now we have a weekly Market where we sell locally grown and made dairy, meats, produce, and products.

Take a look at what's currently on our shelves, see who will be at the Saturday Market, or become a vendor.

ASHE COUNTY CHEESE

Established in 1930 and located in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, Ashe County Cheese produces on average 40,000 pounds of cheese per week. They are one of the oldest cheese plants in the Carolinas.

They are currently producing about 20 different cheese varieties. Their viewing room is open daily and allows people to watch the cheesemaking process.

You can sample and purchase the products they make in their retail shop across the street from the factory.

BENELUX COFFEE

From their trips abroad, owners Steven and Keta have set out to bring their love of Belgian Street food and coffee to the US. Combining Brussels-Style Wafels and a good cup of coffee, Benelux was born.

Working directly with farmers through a family-owned coffee importer, their coffee beans are roasted in small batches as soon as they get to Raleigh, which gives you the freshest cup of coffee around!

BENNY T'S VESTA DRY HOT SAUCE

Benny T's Vesta was founded in 2007 by Ben Tuorto, an avid chile and spicy food enthusiast.

Turned off by the flood of gimmicky and often unpleasant tasting hot sauces and single dimension hot salsas, Ben was inspired to use only fresh chiles and began exposing many friends and family members to his love of adding heat to food.

After several years of perfecting the right combination of flavor and heat - Vesta was born.

BUCHI KOMBUCHA

Based in Marshall, NC, Buchi Kombucha is USDA certified organic kombucha. They craft extraordinary heritage probiotic beverages like kombucha, kefir soda, and shrub soda to cultivate a culture -- both the billions of beneficial bacteria in their bottles as well as a thriving human culture that celebrates fermented foods.

BLUE THUMB FARMS

Blue Thumb is the personal passion of Mary Cove and Allison Culbreth — two female scientists and hydroponic farmers who met in graduate school at North Carolina State University.

Together, they launched Blue Thumb with the idea of applying their scientific expertise to create sustainable, fresh produce for their local community. Let Blue Thumb Farms show you a fresh way to grow.

CALICO FARMSTEAD CHEESE

Based in Gibsonville, NC, Calico Farmstead Cheese is a family owned and operated farmstead cheese company and a part of the "Goodness Grows in North Carolina" initiative.

Their cheese is made in small batches, which gives their cheese a more complex taste and variety.

ESCAZU CHOCOLATES

Escazu came to chocolate making from the culinary and restaurant world. This background influences the way they approach the craft and chocolate making in general, which is not that of manufacturing a product, but as if they are preparing food for family: with care, integrity, and respect for the quality of the natural ingredients.

DOUBLE T FARM

Double-T Farm is an organically and sustainably run farm, owned and operated by Tom Kumpf and Theresa Ryan. They're located just south of Raleigh, NC.

They use organic methods proposed by the USDA, but strive to go beyond them, as many organic growers feel it is only a minimum standard.‍

FOX FARM & FORAGE LLC

Fox Farm & Forage LLC is a small woman-owned farm that produces quality gourmet edible mushrooms that are all grown indoors in a controlled environment utilizing sustainable farming practices.  Organic substrates are used as much as possible.

This venture spawned (pun intended) from her obsession with foraging for mushrooms. She put countless hours into research as well as maintaining her small operation in the most hygienic manner possible.

FULLSTEAM BREWERY

Fullsteam’s mission is to craft distinctly Southern beer that celebrates the farm and food traditions of the American South and expressing that love for community through the Southern Beer Economy. Through the act of commerce -- including their commitment to a living wage for our employees -- their purchases (and yours) foster community and agricultural pride, and encourage entrepreneurship within the post-tobacco South.

At the end of the day it's beer: the beverage of celebration, backyard gatherings, good food, and good people.

HOMELAND CREAMERY

Based in Julian, NC, Homeland Creamery's milk comes from Holsteins (and a few Jersey’s) produced without artificial growth hormones or antibiotics. Homeland Creamery milk is enzyme-rich due to the low-temperature vat pasteurization process.

Because of this, many people who have been diagnosed as lactose intolerant can drink Homeland Creamery's milk!

LOCOPOPS

Based in Durham, NC, Locopops make a lip-smacking selection of locally hand-crafted popsicles in all sorts of imaginative flavors.

These fun and refreshing treats, in both cream and water-based recipes, delight adults and children alike. Fan favorites include Mexican Chocolate, Chocolate Brownie, Cookies and Cream, Mojito, and Mango Chile.

MIKE D'S BBQ

Mike D’s BBQ is a Durham based BBQ Company. Their products are designed to complement but not overpower the flavor of any meat or vegetable.

They also have a twist on traditional BBQ flavors pulling inspiration from the African American and Latino roots of the owner.

NONS SALTS

It all started with dinners at her Non's (grandmother's) house. Her family loved Non's food, and the salts were a big part of the flavor.

Twice a year, Non harvested her herbs to make a batch of her seasoning salts and distributed them to the family, and the tradition is carried on today!

Oak Ridge Farm is a 34-acre farm that is passionate about making a big change in local foods.

They are located in Zebulon, NC and their products include pasture-based chicken, turkey, duck, pork, eggs, and [soon] local, raw honey.

PLEASANT BEE HONEY

The Pleasant Bee is a father and daughter venture that began in 2008. Al and Sarah are members of The North Carolina State Beekeepers Association and the Wake County Beekeepers Association. The Pleasant Bee is also a certified honey producer under the North Carolina Honey Board.

SMALL SEED BAR

A passion project turned business, for wife - and - husband team, Holly and Shane MacKinnon. They saw the need for a simple, real food protein bar. Small Seed came about after founders were tired of compromising their health for a quick on-the-go snack or post-workout meal.

Tiny Farm is Shonna Greenwell (Rebus Works' owner) and Tom "Art" Mekus' garden behind the Rebus Works building. Some of the produce items for sale at The Market come from this tiny plot of land, such as okra, tomatoes, potatoes, and fresh herbs.

Lo & Behold is a 100% natural body care company based in Durham, NC.

Through local partnerships with NC farmers and producers, they bring you sustainable and exotic botanicals.
