ANNE COURIE-MEULNICK

Anne Courie - Meulink is a native of Raleigh who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Carolina University. After 20 years as a studio artist, she attended North Carolina Central University to follow her dream of becoming an art teacher. She has taught in both Wake and Durham counties, and worked for the Nasher Museum at Duke University collaborating with teachers to create lessons for the Words and Pictures Project. She is currently the Chief creative Officer at Oakview Elementary School in Holly Springs, NC. She integrates her lifelong artistic experiences with today’s latest teaching and technology methods.

JILL HUFFMAN

Jill Huffman is a sixteen year veteran k-8 Art Teacher. A mom to four, Jill has worked with hundreds of students in the school setting as well as camps, private lessons and studio courses. Enjoying a wide variety of artistic mediums, she has developed workshops in kite making, puppetry, painting, printmaking and sculpture. She is a resourceful and imaginative teacher sure to bring out everyone’s “inner creativity” and sense of fun. Outside of the classroom you may find her hiking biking, taking a yoga or fitness class or visiting local galleries.

KRISTIN DeBOCKLER

Kristin DeBockler is a multidisciplinary artist and illustrator with over a decade of teaching experience with both children and adults. From private drawing and painting lessons to digital animation tutoring to adult painting classes, Kristin’s wide range of experience in multiple mediums creates fun and engaging classes for all ages and experience levels. Kristin is also a freelance artist; her work is currently hanging in galleries in New York, New Jersey, and has been featured both online and in print.

INTERMEDIATE DRAWING AFTER-SCHOOL WORKSHOP

Class tuition $125 for each 5 week session

Intermediate Drawing Workshop is for students who already have some basic knowledge of drawing principles under their belt either from taking our beginning workshop or independently through their own means.

We will be exploring more advanced design concepts such as negative space, gestalt design, and more. Art will be rendered in sketchbooks during class, students will also be given small drawing challenges to complete in between sessions. Tuition will include an intermediate drawing kit as extension to the beginner kit (those students who have not taken our beginning class may purchase the beginner kit for $20). Beginner workshop is not required as a prerequisite to this intermediate session, but is recommended.

ADVANCED DRAWING AFTER-SCHOOL WORKSHOP

Class tuition $125 for each 5 week session

Looking to hone skills learned from our previous two workshops? Our advanced drawing workshop is for you.

In this 5 week intensive class students will create a finished artwork on acid free drawing paper along with weekly drawing exercises and daily drawing challenges to complete between sessions. Instruction will be focused more on one-on-one interaction tailored to each student’s artwork and needs. An advanced drawing kit extension will be included in tuition, to build upon both the beginner and intermediate kits (beginner kit and intermediate kits may be purchased for $20 each if classes were not taken.

FOUNDATION DRAWING AFTER-SCHOOL WORKSHOP

Class tuition $125 for each 5 week session

Love to draw? Want to learn more? This workshop is for you!

Our beginner drawing workshop will cover basic drawing principles such as shape, form, perspective, light/shade, rendering, linework, as well as drawing materials and their usage. Students will each receive a basic drawing kit as part of this class, which will include a hardbound sketchbook, 6 degrees of graphite drawing pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, ruler, and ink pens. We will be drawing both from life and imagination, exploring a variety of techniques in this intensive close knit class.
