Second Saturday Brunch – April 12 from 10:30-12pm

Rebus Works is proud to announce our next Second Saturday Brunch, April 12th from 10:30-12:00 pm. We will feature the culinary delights of Chef Hamm, owner of Cafe 121, and the smooth sounds of Charles Elliott on saxophone.This is a delightful pairing as both individuals are veterans of their industries with a passion for teaching. They have matured with age yet stayed fresh with the times. Tickets are $20 each for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Please scroll down to the bottom of this page and fill out the form.
The doors at Rebus Works will open at 10:30am for ticket holders with brunch being severed between 11-11:15am. Tickets include brunch (see menu below), juice and an espresso drink of your choice from Just in Time Coffee along with the music of Charles Elliott. You may also purchase a fine Michelada, Blood Orange Shandy or Bananenweizen from inside Rebus Works. At noon doors will open to everyone.
The menu is as follows:
Sweet Potato Biscuits with braised rabbit gravy and whipped local honey butter
Local greens salad with strawberries, candied N.C. pecans, and goat cheese
Carolina Benedict- Pimento Cheese Polenta cake with Lilly den sausage, fried deviled egg, screech owl tomato salsa, served with poached asparagus
Chocolate Pound Cake with balsamic cherry sauce
Chef Hamm: “20 years after entering into the industry, I have continued to grow my passion for Culinary Arts and Education. I taught Culinary Arts at Lee County High School for 12 years then entered the college level of instruction in 2011 with Central Carolina Community College. I am now department Chair for Hospitality and Culinary Art and the Natural Chef Certification program. These programs allow me the ability to continually grow my experience as a Chef and help to inspire those who share the same goals and dreams.”
Chef Hamm is also the owner of Cafe 121 in Sanford and Cary. He is a regular vendor at The Saturday Market at Rebus Works and has a wonderful line of prepared foods that are fresh, locally sourced and locally packaged. Charles Elliott: Charlie Elliott has degrees in music including a doctorate and was a music teacher at the university level for over thirty years.  In addition to teaching, Charlie has performed professionally over the years with Wayne Newton, Johnny Mathis, Don Rickles, Joan Rivers, and Bernadette Peters, to name but a few. He has also appeared with the Temptations, the Four Tops, the Spinners, and has toured with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and the Guy Lombardo Orchestra.
Charlie currently performs live music with as a solo musician and with various ensembles including the Elliaro Duo, Speakeasy Trio and The Casablanca Orchestra.
Along with our Second Saturday Brunch we will also have a Second Saturday Charity Drive on April 12th. The drive for will be for the Interfaith Food Shuttle's BackPack Buddies program that provides children from food-insecure homes with weekend meals during the school year (via their backpacks). The Saturday Market will be collecting donations of healthy, nonperishable food or monetary contributions from 9:30-1:30pm. For more information about the program check out this link:
