Saturday is shaping up to be another great market with a full house of wonderful vendors and Cousins Maine Lobster food truck. With fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, cheese, jams, jellies, breads and other baked goods, you can check off the majority of items on your grocery list for the week. Once you've picked up your groceries for the week, feel free to grab some lunch, an iced coffee or beer, and reward yourself with some luxury bath products for all your hard work.

The Maine lobster industry is the only certified sustainable fishery in the world. Sustainable lobstering practices have been in place in Maine for well over a century. Cousins Maine Lobster is primarily sourced from these areas within the Downeast waters in the most easterly part of the United States, the Mid Coast, and in Penobscot Bay near Vinalhaven in the Gulf of Maine. There are 5,900 legally registered lobstermen and women in Maine. Each license grants the harvester to fish up to 800 traps. With literally millions of buoys off the coast of Maine, the industry supports thousands of jobs on shore, not just the people hauling traps.
Founded in 2012, Cousins Maine Lobster rose to national recognition after being featured on the hit ABC series Shark Tank in 2013. The Cousins partnered with investor Barbara Corcoran and have been on a wild ride ever since, opening ten franchises in 2015 alone. Numerous entertainment and news outlets, e.g., Good Morning America, The Today Show, Master Chef, The Katie Couric Show,The Chew, The Queen Latifah Show, CNN, CNBC, Fox Business, Food & Wine Magazine, Saveur Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, The New York Times, and The New York Post have done features on the company. CML won Best Food Truck in 2012 and 2013 (LA Hot List) and Best Lobster Roll on the West Coast in 2013 and 2014 (Tasting Table).

Chef Brian Battistella, from The Berkeley Cafe, worked his way through some of the most famous kitchens in New Orleans. He survived four years at the world renowned Commander's Palace where he trained under two James Beard Foundation Award winning chefs. We are thrilled to have him joining us at the market preparing dishes from our farm fresh market ingredients.
Each weekend, Brian will be preparing a salad featuring seasonal ingredients fresh from our vendors. Enjoy one while you are at the market for a quick and healthy lunch or discuss with Chef B how you can incorporate into your evening's entertainment plans.
