Art in the Garden Instructor Bios
Judy Jones Bio:
has been educated in a couple of disciplines. The most relevent is an undergraduate degree in fine art and a Masters of Education. Her experience includes teaching briefly in public schools before becoming a freelance art educator. She had Main Street Art in Aberdeen for three years before moving to Florida and working as youth program director for the Von liebig Art Center in Naples. After a decade in the sunshine state Ms. Jones returned to North Carolina, became a member of Artspace, and an instructor in their summer arts program. Currently administrating at 311 Gallery and Studios, Ms. Jones has always maintained a printmaking studio.
Amy Richards Bio:
graduated from Kent State University with a BA in Art Education in 2004. She has taught K-5 art in public school. She has also worked with pre-k students and taught private art lessons to individuals and small groups. She illustrates coloring books, having done work for Moonlight Pizza and Edenton Street Methodist Church. She has shown her fine art work in venues throughout the triangle.
Jason Whitman Bio:
graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA with a concentration in sculpture. Jason has since participated and curated a number of art shows throughout the region. Jason served as an instructor for the Autism Society of North Carolina for 6 years in residential and community settings. During that time Jason held the Art Specialist position for one year, educating and facilitating autistic adult artists and crafters.
