The first day of summer also marked the first day of summer art camps at Rebus Works. Young artists from across the area and ranging in age from 7 - 9 years old converged in Boylan Heights yesterday for an introduction to abstract art. Under instruction by Claudia Corletto, these artist will meet at 9 AM each day this week for a variety of art activities with breaks for snacks, lunch, and outdoor play. Activities are designed to help artists learn what is required for works of art to be considered abstract and how to recognize this style and distinguish it from others. Unique Batik starts next week and there are only a few spots left. Come and learn the ancient art of Batik, a traditional Indonesian method for creating designs on fabric using wax and dye with Anne Courie-Meulink. abstract_day1
